7-Make sure you play slow and in time, this is very important, otherwise it will be sloppy. You can't play it fast if you can't play it slow. Speed will come, you just need to be patient.
8-Try to keep your thumb firmly on the back of the neck and make it about even with your second finger or between your 1st & 2nd fingers. 9-Use the proper fingering when playing chords or single notes. This will go a long way once you move on to advanced and lead playing. 10-Develop your ear. Learn to really listen. 11-Learn your notes, memorize them, learn to read them as well as hear them. 12-Practice EVERY day.....EVERY day
